How to go..

This is queen of all beaches in Goa. Calangute is thronged by visitors. This beach is a 7 km long coastal stretch. Calangute is Goa at its best, you name it, it's there - the beach, nightspots, restaurants, night-markets, t'ai chi, yoga sessions and adventure sports. And the most unusual of them all are the village vaddos, or traditional village wards. Located at the centre of the Bardez coast, it is 16km from Panaji. Taxies are available. There is a bus service to Calangute.

You must see..

If you are driving down from Mapusa, the church of St. Alex is a good place to see. Particularly beautiful is the church white dome. Further down the beach is a market where you can find an array of shops, managing from designer boutiques and book shops to small shops selling trinkets. Tourists can opt for various sports like Para selling, water skiing and windsurfing, there are boat operators offering trips to the Island and expeditions to fish or spot dolphins and crocodiles.
