Anjuna Beach is a beach in Goa, which is located 18 kilometres away from Panaji and 8 kilometres to the west of Mapusa, North Goa. It is situated in Anjuna village of Bardez taluka in North Goa. The beach is the part of a 30 kilometres extended beach coastline along the west coast of Goa by the Arabian sea
Anjuna as a place lies north of Calangute and Baga in Goa. Nearest town is Mapusa which too is a travel destination. One can reach Anjuna either by train or by bus. On reaching Goa, catch the train to Thivim station in Goa. Get down at Thivim; take a local bus to Mapusa bus station and then get another bus to Anjuna beach. Or one can hire a cab and each Anjuna beach. From the main city of Goa; Anjuna beach is a 2 hours drive via NH66 by cab or local bus it being 67 kilometers in distance.
You will feel very relax here. You can enjoy moments of stillness, commune with nature, listen to music or enjoy a good read. There are a very good but few restaurants here, most of them are attached to hotels. Anjuna just has some hotels so there are not many accommodation facilities here.
There are hotels & houses for tourists. Most of the hotels are here in north. There are a few places here that offer great seafood. Most of these are located on the busy road towards the beach.The nightlife in Anjuna is rocking with many night birds living here. Some option available here are Indian classical music and dance
There are now many restaurants to choose from on Anjuna Beach and behind in the village. The standard has risen in the last few years as the resorts have raised there standard with both accommodation and food. You can see the influence of chefs/consultants from overseas and also from Indian chefs trained in 5 stars.
On the road towards Palolem, just 10 minutes walking distance from Anjuna, you have a great home made food restaurant called as Bandekar's. You can pick the fish you want from their fridge. The rates are extremely reasonable and not touristic.
There are stores stocking basic supplies in Anjuna, as well as internet, phone and currency conversion services. HDFC Bank ATM is located near the church.More shops, a Saturday market and several ATMs are a 20-minute drive away in the local town, Chaudi. .
